President's Message
Dear Members,
As we close out 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the meaningful progress and strategic growth for AMPTA. From strengthening our governance framework, expanding our educational offerings and deepening relationships with key stakeholders, this year has been marked by momentum and impact.
We’ve strengthened our governance with revised policies and a forward-looking budget, expanded our educational offerings with sold-out sessions and webinars, and deepened our relationships with affiliate organizations provincially and interprovincially. Our voice was heard in legislative reviews, and our presence was felt at conferences and collaborative tables. These achievements are geared towards excellence in municipal taxation for our profession.
Looking ahead to 2026, our Board is continuing to build on this foundation. Strategic planning will continue to guide our efforts, and we remain focused on the five pillars that have shaped our direction: Governance, Member Engagement, Growth & Education, Stakeholder Collaboration, and Sustainability. These priorities will shape our initiatives and ensure AMPTA remains a strong, forward-thinking association.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a bright start to the new year.
Warm regards, Denise Schmaltz AMTPA President

Membership Profile
We’re gearing up to plan our next round of education sessions, and we need your updated member profiles, otherwise we’re basically guessing (and trust us, nobody wants that).
If you haven’t updated your info yet, please take a quick moment to do it. Accurate profiles help us choose the right topics, set the right dates, and avoid accidentally scheduling a workshop on something nobody asked for… again.
Thanks for helping us create training that actually makes sense for you and your municipality. You’re saving us from a lot of wild guesswork!
