Member Spotlight

Stella Punko

Stella has worked with the Town of Westlock as a Finance Clerk for over 25 years! She is responsible for Taxes A to Z including preparation and mailing out of Assessment Notices and Property Tax Notices, Tax Collection and Tax Recovery.

In addition, Stella is responsible for Payroll A to Z including bi-weekly payroll, Pension & Benefits Administrator, T4’s, etc. Also, HR duties fall to her as with many of our smaller municipalities, there is no HR position!

Stella says "I joined the Association prior to COVID as the need for a communication avenue between taxation departments in Municipalities was crucial due to the lack of available training and no certification. As I struggled when initially being handed the responsibility of the Municipalities taxation, it was obvious that an Association like this one was desperately needed to provide support and training."

When Stella is not working at the Town or spending time with the Board for meetings, she loves to spend special time with her family and friends and Volunteering.
