Joyce MacKenzie-Grieve

Joyce has been the Financial Services Clerk for the MD of Pincher Creek since March 2017.

"My property tax experience began at ChevronTexaco in Calgary, working as the Commodity Tax Analyst for 8 years. The Commodity Tax position included Property Tax, PST, GST/HST, and Fuel Tax. From ChevronTexaco I moved to Burlington Resources where I was the Commodity Tax Supervisor; until ConocoPhillips purchased Burlington Resources two years later.  I  have been employed by the MD of Pincher Creek for six years, as their Financial Services Clerk, which includes property tax, accounts receivable, and backup for utilities.

My husband, dog, cat, and I live in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass.  In Spring, Summer, and Fall I enjoy gardening, walking, and participating in antique car shows. Last year we purchased an older motorhome and will definitely be doing some camping this summer!!

I am not a winter person, winter drags for me; from January to March I suffer from Spring Fever!!  Next winter I am planning to get back into doing stained glass to pass the time during those long winter months."

Joyce was one of the founding members of AMTPA back in 2018. The organization has taken off and grown substantially since its inception. The goal in forming the association was to develop a network and collaboration amongst municipal property tax clerks to provide a platform to share knowledge, expertise, and ideas and to provide quality educational opportunities for our members.

Joyce says "thanks to the support and active participation from all of the keen members, Municipalities, Municipal Affairs, and valued associates, our goal is well on its way to being a huge success. We should all be very proud of what we have accomplished together."
