Membership Types are:

Regular Member:

Persons who are employed by a municipal government in Alberta

Retired Member:

Prior Regular Member who retired from a municipal government in Alberta

Affiliated Member:

Any individual or organization with an interest in local government taxation. These members enjoy the same benefits as the regular and retired memberships but they do not have the ability to carry voting rights or stand for election.

Regular and Retired members are entitled to:

  • Receive notices of and attend any general meeting of the Association;
  • Propose motions, second motions, speak on motions, and vote during general meetings;
  • Participate in or vote in elections;
  • Stand for election as a Director, if eligible under the Association Bylaws;
  • Enjoy any other rights or privileges granted to members under the Association Bylaws.

All members are required to:

  • Adhere to the Association’s Bylaws and any policies established by the Board; and
  • Support and uphold the purposes, goals, and objectives of the Association.
