Our Purpose
Alberta Municipal Taxation Professionals Association is a network of municipal property tax professionals who have come together from across Alberta to share knowledge, expertise, advocate for legislation changes and elevate the profession through training and development.
Our FutureAs AMTPA continues to grow, the association will develop educational opportunities for Alberta municipal taxation members that will recognize the qualifications and expertise required in this profession. |
HistoryThe Alberta Taxation Clerks have convened for many years prior to the establishment of the association. These meetings were not held annually and depended on a municipality's willingness to plan and host the event. Their primary purpose was to provide education and networking opportunities for municipal tax professionals across the province. In February 2020, the Institute of Alberta Municipal Tax Clerks was incorporated to serve as a formal forum for taxation professionals, facilitating annual conferences and structured educational programs. In May 2021, the Institute underwent a name change to the Alberta Municipal Taxation Professionals Association to more inclusively represent all individuals within the municipal taxation profession, including but not limited to revenue collection and financial officers. As of 2024, our membership has grown to over 300 individuals. |
